Amazing Lightning of Sheikh Zayed Mosque

Vaghean Aaaaliiiye :)

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (Arabic :جامع الشيخ زايد الكبير) is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates and is considered to be the key for worship in the country.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was initiated by the late President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who wanted to establish a structure which unites the cultural diversity of Islamic world, the historical and modern values of architecture and art. His final resting place is located on the grounds beside the same mosque. It is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the eighth largest mosque in the world. The mosque site is equivalent to the size five football fields approximately.
As the country's grand mosque, it is the key place of worship for Friday gathering and Eid prayers. During Eid it can be visited more than 40,000 people.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center (SZGMC) offices are located in the east minarets. SZGMC manages the day to day operations, as a place of worship and Friday gathering and also a center of learning and discovery through its educational cultural activities and visitor programs.
The library, located in the north/east minaret, serves the community with classic books and publications addressing a range of Islamic subjects: sciences, civilization, calligraphy, the arts, coins and includes some rare publications dating back more than 200 years. In reflection of the diversity of the Islamic world and the United Arab Emirates, the collection comprises material in a broad range of languages including Arabic, English, French, Italian, Spanish, German and Korean.

5 people having a worse Monday than you !!

5. The forgotten female British tennis player who won Wimbledon in 1977. Everyone is reporting that the racquet-wielding Scot known as Andy Murray (or the Englishman known as Andy Murray if you read the New York Times) has become the first UK tennis player to win the premier UK tennis tournament, Wimbledon, in 77 years. Except, of course, for Sarah Virginia Wade, who won the women's singles championship 1977 but doesn't count because of her boobs. She also did it on Wimbledon's 100th year. She also won two other Majors singles tournaments and four doubles championships. Andy Murray, on the other hand, looks like the guy Mark Zuckerberg forces out of Facebook in The Social Network.

4. Johnny Depp. The Lone Ranger didn't open all that well, even though the 4th of July falling on a Thursday made the holiday weekend last for about two months. Not only did the movie barely manage to earn back its publicity budget, but it effectively killed the chance of Johnny Depp and Armie "Once A Winklevoss, Always A Winklevoss" Hammer being the Riggs and Murtaugh of the new millennium. Top it all off with everyone calling out Depp for being a white guy playing a Native American character, effectively ordering him to only pancake himself in his cherished white makeup for imaginary characters under the direction of Tim Burton, and he's probably regretting not just going ahead and doing Pirates 5.

3. Conservative Costa Rican lawmakers who got tricked into legalizing gay civil unions. Much to the dismay of conservatives, Costa Rican president Laura Chinchilla has decided not to veto a controversial piece of legislation that would legalize gay civil unions. The language in the bill, which would define marriage as between a man and woman, was changed at the last minute by a liberal lawmaker, who added the phrase "the right to recognition without discrimination contrary to human dignity." No one noticed because who has time to read these things when there's so much ziplining to do in Costa Rica? So the bill passed.

2. A flight attendant whose coworkers insist she travels with her pet rat. Louann Giambattista, a Long Island-based American Airlines flight attendant, is suing the airline after her coworkers made allegations that she was sneaking her pet rat onto flights in her underwear. Giambattista was blacklisted by customs and threatened with strip searches when she went to work until, she claims, she developed PTSD. The unhappy lady admits she's an animal lover and once owned a rat (who died), but she denies ever bringing a rat onboard (and indeed, none was ever found). Frankly, even if she did bring a rat on a plane, it's this week's cutest story in air travel.

1. Everyone who's only halfway through summer and has already blown all their vacation time. Last week was awesome, right? There was all this build-up to it, and then the fireworks and the beer and the camping—it was all exactly what you needed! Well, now it's over. And it's only July 8. So welcome to the rest of your summer, spent alternately freezing at your desk or sweating the second you step outside. You blew it. Good luck making it to Thanksgiving.

Turn Child’s Drawing into Stuffed Toy/Doll

Child’s Own Studio does something pretty neat: If you supply the studio with a drawing a child made, the studio will produce a stuffed toy using the child’s drawing as the blueprint. Are you an overprotective parent who will stop at nothing to make sure your child is both safe from possibly iffy design choices, but also one who makes sure their child gets exactly what they want at all times always? Child’s Own Studio actually prefers you, stating that the more directions provided, the better.
On the site’s official FAQ, it is noted that there isn’t a set price, and the studio will provide a quote once the child’s drawing is received, though standard U.S. and Canadian shipping will cost $15. The toy ends up being around 12 to 14 inches long on average, and the toy takes about 2 to 4 weeks to make once the payment is received, though rush orders are possible, there will be an extra fee for that.
The studio is willing to use material in the toy that has been provided for them so long as it is possible, such as a sentimental blankey, and to prevent any kind of dissatisfaction, the studio will show you pictures of the finished product before they ship it, so they can work out any kinks you may find. They do say they prefer children’s drawings, but they aren’t opposed to special requests from adults. Read on below to check out some of the other completed projects, including an aloof blue cat, a fire-breathing dragon, and a stick figure with a proportionally humongous head.

Life Vest Inside - Kindness Boomerang - "One Day"

Song Lyrics: Kindness Boomerang/ One Day - Life Vest Inside/ Matisyahu

Sometimes I lay under the moon
And I thank God I'm breathin'
Then I pray don't take me soon
'Cause I am here for a reason

Sometimes in my tears I drown
But I never let it get me down
So when negativity surrounds
I know someday it'll all turn around because

All my life I been waitin' for
I been prayin' for, for the people to say
That we don't want to fight no more
They'll be no more wars
And our children will play, one day

It's not about win or lose 'cause we all lose
When they feed on the souls of the innocent blood
Drenched pavement keep on movin'
Though the waters stay ragin'

And in this life you may lose your way
It might drive you crazy
But don't let it phase you, no way

Sometimes in my tears I drown
But I never let it get me down
So when negativity surrounds
I know someday it'll all turn around because

All my life I been waitin' for
I been prayin' for, for the people to say
That we don't want to fight no more
They'll be no more wars
And our children will play, one day

One day this all will change
Treat people the same
Stop with the violence down with the hate
One day we'll all be free and proud
To be under the same sun
Singing songs of freedom like

This what we should go and what we should continue in our life. Such a warm love cycle!!

Hip Hop Dog

Hip-hop dance

Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States. The television showSoul Train and the 1980s films Breakin'Beat Street, and Wild Style showcased these crews and dance styles in their early stages; therefore, giving hip-hop mainstream exposure. The dance industry responded with a commercial, studio-based version of hip-hop—sometimes called new style—and a hip-hop influenced style of jazz dance called jazz-funk. Classically trained dancers developed these studio styles in order to create choreography from the hip-hop dances that were performed on the street. Because of this development, hip-hop dance is practiced in both dance studios and outdoor spaces.
The commercialization of hip-hop dance continued into the 1990s and 2000s with the production of several other television shows and movies such as The GrindPlanet B-BoyRizeStreetDance 3DAmerica's Best Dance CrewSaigon Electric, the Step Up film series, and The LXD, a web series. Though the dance is established in entertainment, including mild representation in theater, it maintains a strong presence in urban neighborhoods which has led to the creation of street dance derivatives turfing, krumping, and jerkin'.
1980s films, television shows, and the Internet have contributed to introducing hip-hop dance outside of the United States. Since being exposed, educational opportunities and dance competitions have helped maintain its presence worldwide. Europe host several international hip-hop competitions such as the UK B-Boy Championships, Juste Debout, and EuroBattle. Australia host a team-based competition called World Supremacy Battlegrounds and Japan host a two-on-two competition called World Dance Colosseum.
What distinguishes hip-hop from other forms of dance is that it is often freestyle (improvisational) in nature and hip-hop dance crews often engage in freestyle dance competitions—colloquially referred to as battles. Crews, freestyling, and battles are identifiers of this style. Hip-hop dance can be a form of entertainment or a hobby. It can also be a way to stay active in competitive dance and a way to make a living by dancing professionally.

Mario

Mario (Japanese: マリオ, Mario) is the eponymous main character and protagonist of the long-running and highly successful Marioseries. He was created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and also serves as the main mascot of Nintendo. Mario made his first appearance as the protagonist of the arcade game Donkey Kong, released in 1981. Since Super Mario Bros., his trademark abilities have been his jumping and stomping powers, with which he defeats most of his enemies, and his ability to change size and gain powers with a plethora of items, such as the Super Mushroom and Fire Flower. Games have usually portrayed Mario as a silent character without a distinct personality (Fortune Street is a notable exception). According to Nintendo's philosophy, this allows Mario to fit in many different genres and roles. In most games, he is the hero that goes on an adventure to save Princess Peach from the evil Bowser, but he has been shown doing other activities besides adventuring, such as racing and sporting.

Creation

Concept art for Jumpman.
Following the failure of Radar Scope in North America, Nintendo's then-president, Hiroshi Yamauchi, requested Miyamoto's aid in converting unsoldRadar Scope units into something that would sell well. Miyamoto conceived the concept of a love triangle and decided to make a game based on thePopeye character. He, however, was denied the rights for the Popeye franchise, so he decided to come up with a new idea using his own characters.
For use in his arcade game Donkey Kong, he created the character of Jumpman, who previously went under other names, such as Mr. Video, and originally, "Ossan" (the Japanese term for middle-aged man). This character was given red overalls and a blue shirt in order to make the arms more visible as well as a cap and moustache, as hair and a mouth were impossible to animate on the arcade system.  It is said that during the development for Donkey Kong Jr., the Jumpman character was renamed to Mario when an employee at Nintendo of America's office pointed out the similar physical appearances between Jumpman and Nintendo's Italian landlord, Mario Segale.

DNA Bridge

DNA bridge was opened in Singapore

Opened the world's first bridge based on a double helix - a model of DNA structure. The bridge stretches 280 meters in length over the Marina Bay area and is equipped with computer-controlled lighting to improve the well-being of walkers.
The Helix Bridge, previously known as the Double Helix Bridge, is a pedestrian bridge linking Marina Centre with Marina South in the Marina Bayarea in Singapore. It was officially opened on 24 April 2010 at 9 pm, however only half was opened due to ongoing construction at the Marina Bay Sands.[1] It is located beside the Benjamin Sheares Bridge and is accompanied by a vehicular bridge, known as the Bayfront Bridge. The entire bridge was opened on 18 July 2010 to complete the entire walkway around Marina Bay.
The bridge complements other major development projects planned in the area, including the highly-anticipated Integrated Resort Marina Bay Sands,Singapore FlyerGardens by the Bay and the 438,000 m² business and financial centre which will be ready by 2012.

Architecture
The design consortium is an international team comprising Australian architects the Cox Group and engineers Arup, and Singapore based Architects 61.
Canopies (made of fritted-glass and perforated steel mesh) are incorporated along parts of the inner spiral to provide shade for pedestrians. The bridge has four viewing platforms sited at strategic locations which provide stunning views of the Singapore skyline and events taking place within Marina Bay. At night, the bridge will be illuminated by a series of lights that highlight the double-helix structure, thereby creating a special visual experience for the visitors.
Pairs of colored letters c and g, as well as a and t on the bridge which are lit up at night in red and green represent cytosineguanineadenine andthymine, the four bases of DNA. The intentional left handed DNA-like design, which is the opposite of normal DNA on earth, earned it a place in The Left Handed DNA Hall of Fame in 2010 .
The Land Transport Authority claims it is a world first in architectural and engineering bridge design.
It won the 'World's Best Transport Building' award at the World Architecture Festival Awards in the same year. It has also been recognised by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) at the BCA Design and Engineering Safety Excellence Awards in 2011.

Design
From the outset, the project posed several challenges. There was a desire for the plan view of the bridge to be curved in an arc, such that it joins the foreshore promenades on either side seamlessly. Furthermore, it was desirable to create a lightweight structure, in contrast to the adjacent 6-lane vehicle bridge which is rather heavy in appearance.
Due to the tropical climate, the brief also required the bridge to provide shade and shelter against direct sunshine and heavy rainfall. The combination of these factors, together with the desire to create a landmark structure, led to a novel and unique design. The bridge was designed using BS 5950 [7] in combination with a design guide from the SCI.
The resulting bridge comprises two delicate helix structures that act together as a tubular truss to resist the design loads. This approach was inspired by the form of the curved DNA structure. The helix tubes only touch each other in one position, under the bridge deck. The two spiralling members are held apart by a series of light struts and rods, as well as stiffening rings, to form a rigid structure. This arrangement is strong and ideal for the curved form. The stainless steel bridge is met by concrete abutments at either side.
The 280 m bridge is made up of three 65 m spans and two 45 m end spans. If the steel were stretched out straight from end to end, it would measure 2.25 km in length. The major and minor helices, which spiral in opposite directions, have an overall diameter of 10.8 m and 9.4 m respectively, about 3-storeys high. The outer helix is formed from six tubes (273 mm in diameter) which are set equidistant from one another. The inner helix consists of five tubes, also 273 mm in diameter. Over the river, the bridge is supported by unusually light tapered stainless steel columns, which are filled with concrete. The columns form inverted tripod shapes which support the bridge above each of the pilecaps. The bridge weighs around 1700 tonnes in total.
The final pieces of the design are a series of ovular-shaped cantilevered viewing ‘pods’, each with capacity for about 100 people, that extend out on the bay side to create ‘ring-side’ viewing for water events. These decks are also constructed using grade 1.4462 and are designed to further optimize the pedestrian experience of the bridge as a new urban place and a vital connection between Singapore’s major existing and emerging urban precincts. Lighting As this structure was inspired by the DNA structure, it was essential that the architectural lighting features should emphasise the various shapes and curves.
Towards that end, a series of dynamic multi-coloured light-emitting diode (LED) lights are installed on the helix structures. Outward-facing lights accentuate the sweeping structural curves, with another discreet array of lights illuminating the internal canopy of glass and steel mesh to create a dynamic membrane of light. The inner helix uses white light to illuminate a path for pedestrians. The lights work particularly well with the surface finish and colour of the stainless steel elements.
